Videographer in Vancouver Doing it Right
- Videography refers to the process of capturing moving images on electronic media. Now the term is being expanded to include methods of video production and post-production. Which could be considered the equivalent of cinematography.
- Also the advent of digital video blurred the distinction between videography and cinematography, even the words filmmaking and being a filmmaker coincide with creating commercial video production works.
In the film videography Vancouver industry, I consider myself a producer. Someone who can organize schedule and plan an event with crew and producers in order to capture cool images. So much of a great video is getting the right people in the right locations.
Videographers are Distinguished from Cinematographers
A lot of videography is done using software driven solutions and broadcast worldwide video production can be done out of a backpack.

When I used to work in the film industry, the film videography was usually a camera operator who is shooting behind the scenes footage. That person would work with a small team and professional video equipment, sound and lighting. Potentially handling all of the video post-production stuff themselves. Eventually delivering the entire production with a one-man crew.
Typically videographers are distinguished from cinematographers and then that they use Digital hard drive, flashcards or digital video cameras. Cinematographers tend to specialize in traditional mechanical film cameras. Either profession can handle those amazing event video productions, commercials. Even documentaries, live events, short films, training videos and anything else!
At the end of the day so much of videography is about creating unique stories with fascinating people. A powerful story told through stunning visuals with sounds and a strong narrative.

I love this idea of creating cinema, creative documentaries and a modern and cinematic styles which is authentic and not contrived. A lot of marketers can hide behind the productions by removing all the blemishes.
In conclusion nobody is perfect and a slightly unpolished look has a feeling of authenticity. That is why consumers are more and more wary of marketing and the nuances of communication. Which can influence and drive them to action but are not always truthful and without hidden incentives.
