My name is Colter Ripley and I am a Vancouver filmmaker. I love telling good stories. Although I know it’s not only all about pretty images but also about the soul and the people. The heart behind an authentic message.

I became certified in business coaching. One of the main takeaways is asking the right questions and listening. I mean really listening. This allows you to dive deep with your client and producer to get at the heart behind a production.

Creating Desire in your Viewer to make an amazing film Videography

Creating desire in your viewer, making them cry, making them laugh, or generating a wanting emotion of desire and passion is a great challenge. Everyone lives for an exciting message.

  • Videography refers to the process of capturing moving images on electronic media. Now the term expands to include methods of video production and post-production. Which considers as the equivalent of cinematography.
  • Also, the advent of digital video blurred the distinction between videography and cinematography, even the words filmmaking and being a filmmaker coincide with creating commercial video production works.

In the film videography Vancouver industry, I consider myself a producer. Someone who can organize a schedule and plan an event with crew and producers in order to capture cool images. So much of a great video is getting the right people in the right locations.

Videographers are being distinguished from Cinematographers

A lot of videography is done using software-driven solutions and broadcast worldwide video production can be done out of a backpack.

When I was working in the film industry, the film videography was usually a camera operator who is shooting behind the scenes footage. That person would work with a small team and professional video equipment, sound and lighting. Potentially handling all of the video post-production stuff themselves. Eventually delivering the entire production with a one-man crew.

Typically videographers are distinguished from cinematographers and then that they use Digital hard drive, flashcards, or digital video cameras. Cinematographers tend to specialize in traditional mechanical film cameras. Either profession can handle those amazing event video productions, commercials. Even documentaries, live events, short films, training videos and anything else!

At the end of the day, so much of videography is about creating unique stories with fascinating people. A powerful story told through stunning visuals with sounds and a strong narrative.

Important Parts of making Film Videography

Some of the important parts are:

  • Firstly one of the most important parts is having a producer who really cares. Look for someone who works on a limited number of commissions each year. So they are going to maximize the amount of time with each client.
  • Secondly, refined commercial production often has a contemporary film videography aesthetics and that nice cinema refinement. Some of my favorite productions look like they could appear in a movie theater.
  • Also, get inspired by your production and creative vision to be beautiful and timeless. Having great outcomes on film videography or any video production can become a measure for your success. That helps ground your production in reality. I love a natural and authentic vibe from real people.

So it’s extremely challenging to dedicate yourself to telling those meaningful stories through the art of the visual and digital medium in film videography.

Capturing the vibe and energy of production in Film Videography

A wedding is something like a theatrical event. Obviously people wear costumes and play a role as a talent. Capturing the vibe and energy of production is best when done in a natural way. Using state-of-the-art equipment to love the story you create so you’re marketing will benefit for years to come.

I love the idea of creating cinema, creative documentaries and modern and cinematic styles that are authentic. A lot of marketers can hide behind the productions by removing all the blemishes.

In conclusion, nobody is perfect and a slightly unpolished look has a feeling of authenticity. That is why consumers are warier of marketing and the nuances of communication. Which can influence and drive them to action but are not always truthful and without hidden incentives.
