Video recording and all the clear images it captures
Video recording in Vancouver is all about capturing crystal clear images and sound. That doesn’t sound too tough, does it?
There are people who spend their entire careers and decades learning how to make beautiful images. So when it comes to working with someone to produce high-quality work, engage the professionals.
Our company does professional corporate videos and commercials so we have over $150,000 in equipment and cinematographers, sound engineers, editorial supervisors and a variety of roles depending on the project.

A couple great tips when it comes to recording and capturing great content:
- Consider this three most important elements of any production – story, talent and location
- Focus on a powerful message with a simple idea and a compelling story which gets you excited to share
- Focus on clear, easy to understand content which is free from distractions and clearly tells the story
Have you ever been moved to tears by a commercial? That happens to me all the time. It’s incredible to think what a short masterpiece can do to the emotions.
Learning video recording the Vancouver style
When recording videos, the amateur always focuses on the technical details because this is foundational to any production. Every producer gets obsessed about settings, cameras, camera moves and the variety of nuances behind recording framing and subconscious perception.
If someone spends a couple of hundred hours going through online tutorials and taking courses, they can master many of the fundamental skills of recording videos. When those amazing technical skills are mastered, a producer starts to learn how to tell a story using all the equipment.
It’s a sad fact that it takes years to get past the technical elements but it’s amazing how powerful a great story and a simple clear vision can become.
I’ve continued to be blown away by simple clear stories that are told in a concise fashion. When you put a clear shot next to another clear shot, you begin to have a story.

Each subsequent shot you add to your recording furthers expands the narrative story.
As you slowly build your one shot at a time, you can take your time to capture appropriate images that would complement the story narrative.
I have been saving reference videos and sample projects for many years and use them for influence on my productions.
It’s one of my secret weapons to find examples of great recordings and take them as influence for our productions. I love finding great shots and examples of beautiful cinematography to be used as reference.
So take influence from the work of others and do some good research to uncover high-quality productions that would inspire you to produce a video recording project that is within your means.

Creative team vital to video recording productions
One of my greatest secrets in creating an excellent piece is to find smart and capable people and put them all together in the same room. The most talented producers find great people and enroll them in the vision to create an exciting recording project in Vancouver.
It really can’t be understated how important a great team is in doing video recording.
The process of doing video recording the right way
A few of the main things we ask our clients to come to the table with:
- A vision for their video
- Some success outcomes that will help us measure the success of the final product
- A clear target viewer
It’s been helpful to build out a viewer avatar so we know who we’re creating the story for.

People keep asking me about storyboards and whether or not I am going to write a script but it’s been interesting to see how many recordings write themselves after defining a clear vision, outcomes and a target viewer.
Add into that is some hard work in finding great reference videos and projects that are inspiring.
There are so many cameras that can help you record clear images. It’s really tough for me to make a recommendation since it is very technical. I think the cameras will keep evolving overtime.
The core foundations of a great story, great talent and some nice locations will never become obsolete. So work with a creative team in a collaborative atmosphere and make sure someone has all the technical skills to capture all the content.

Simple but powerful methods to consider in video recording
Have you ever used a work back plan? This simple and powerful method helps you plan any recording easily. This is simply having some final outcomes and working back with what it would take to achieve them.
- Choose an emotional outcome you want to achieve with your target viewer
- Choose a measurement or metric of success such as views, shares or engagements
- Choose a purely selfish outcome for you or your corporation such as sales, brand exposure or purchases
